I am ashamed to admit that I’ve only just attended my first ever school disco (my daughter’s been at Park Lane for 5 years!). I can honestly say I won’t be forgetting it any time soon. Not because of the noise and definitely not because of any rowdy behaviour. Nope. Just put plain and simple, I felt my years age profusely by 10 in a space of three hours.
Moves and shapes thrown across the hall, lights blazing head to toe, all to the sounds of Baby Shark. Then Years 5&6 stroll in with Turn Down for What, and bodies no longer vertical but cleaning the school hall in their high fashion gear. However, apparently, no matter how old you are nothing ends a disco better than a good ole fashion conga. And the most difficult choices for all our children – ten minutes left – do I dance or clear the tuck shop?
We thank you for whatever way you and your child raised funds at the disco. Thank you to the parents and teachers who help to run the night, and a special thank you to Katy and Amy for executing such wonderful memories for the children.
And the best bit: This one Disco raised a massive £607!! All proceeds will go straight back to improving our school in some way. What’s not to like?
Well done everyone!
